What on earth is this thing?!?
Well, quite simply, Snöögle is a two-person coat (although it could theoretically work for three, four, or more people).
How does it work?
Ever zip two sleeping bags together? Well, the principle is the same, but in this case the sleeping bag has arms. So there are two sets of zippers -- one for the body, and one for the arms.
The coat consists of two ponchos and two sleeves:
You can wear the coat as two separate ponchos, a full single-person coat and one poncho, or as a complete two-person coat:
Isn't it hard to use zippers without getting fur stuck in the teeth?
It is a little tricky, but we've separated the zippers from the fur with a one-inch strip of pleather (fake leather). If
you pinch the pleather strips together, as shown in the photo to the left, it keeps most of the fur out of the way.
That's for you and your Snöögle-buddy to decide.
I see it comes only in medium, large, and extra-large sizes. What if I'm a small?
Size small would be too tight for two people, even small people. But it's not a very big difference, since Snöögle is meant to be relatively loose-fitting.
What if one of us is a medium and the other is an extra-large? Can I get a Snöögle with mixed sizes?
We considered that option, but felt it would look kind of weird and lopsided, so we decided not to offer it. However, if you really, really have to have a Snöögle with mixed sizes, contact us and we can talk about it.
Can I get one more poncho part so I can make a three-headed Snöögle?
Yes, definitely! We didn't make this a standard option, in order to keep the ordering process simple. Just email us and we'll discuss it.
What's the longest Snöögle ever assembled?
I'm sorry, that's classified.
