Hello, and happy spring! We've had a wonderful and long winter break here at IlanioWear, and now in the spirit of rebirth and spring cleaning, we've decided to close our doors and move on to new projects. Yes, you heard it right, after five wonderful years, we're shutting down IlanioWear.
It's been a long and rewarding journey, from the first hand-sewn leggie-legs to some of our final, elaborate designs. Thank you all for your support over the years -- not just as customers but as fans and friends.
But where am I going to get a sick outfit for the playa this year?, we hear you asking. Well, fear not -- there's still some IlanioWear left, and it's available through a wonderful reseller named Betty Burns. Email her at betty@bettyburns.com before it's all gone! And if you'd rather just make your own IlanioWear, we've posted most of our patterns here -- feel free to download and use them as you see fit.
Why are we closing? To make a long story short, it's because we are creative types, not business people, and we have the attention spans of gerbils on acid. Really you should be asking how we managed to stick with it for five years!
So now, like at the end of any good Scooby Doo episode, it's time to take off our swamp-monster masks, and show who was behind all the hijinks. IlanioWear was just three of us -- Julia, Claudia, and Ilan. Julia, our one-woman sewing army, made every single piece of IlanioWear with her own two very-talented hands. Claudia, co-founder and co-owner of IlanioWear as well as a talented bodyworker, healer, and flower-essence practitioner, is focusing on her new project, Stars in Jars Essences. And Ilan (aka Ilanio) will continue working in fashion and photography, trying to catapult to the next level the fun, sexy, and strange ideas of IlanioWear. If you want to hear more about this project as it develops, you can click here to join the IlanioWear mailing list.
No one likes long good-byes, but before we sign off, we've got to thank you one more time. The clothes were cool, there was hard work and good times, but by far, the best thing about this project was all of you. Through IlanioWear we've met so many wonderful people, many of whom are now cherished friends and new family... it's as if IlanioWear were nectar, made to attract the sweetest honeybees on earth! So please give yourself a big, slow, fuzzy "thank-you" hug from us, and come find us on the playa this year!
Love,
Julia, Claudia, and Ilan(io) :)
